I had a great time during my stay! The breakfast included tasty bagels and fresh coffee, and the room was surprisingly stylish and clean. Plus, the sunset view from my window was a nice surprise!

We booked the hotel because it had 3 beds, which we needed, and it was close to us Berkeley. The management was responsive to our needs - as described below.
1. The person in the room next to us had his tv on so loud that we could not sleep. At 4am I went to the office to ask them if there was anything they could do. Somehow they were able to stop the tv noise, but then the person was hacking and coughing. The walls were too thin to keep the noise our. We had a bad night with little sleep. 2. We chose the hotel because it had 3 beds and my husband and I were travelling with 2 teenagers. We were charged for an extra person but I had to go back down to the office to ask for an extra bath towel. In the end we paid way too much for a shabby room. 3. The table in the room was broken - it was too wobbly to use. The upholstered chairs at the table were filthy. The light switches in the room blinked green light all night - we had to tape a piece of paper over them so we could sleep. Some of the light bulbs did not work.

That it was close to uc berkeley
The staff at the hotel helped but the manager that I never met apparantly told the staff what could and could not be done. I was booked into a room that only allowed 2 people but I had 4 and a baby. They stated that we could not stay in the room as it will only accomodate 2 people. They did allow me to pay 35 per person for the first night so I ended up paying 200 for a one night stay. They informed me that they did not have any other rooms available. Later that night there was an upset person that was yelling as they wanted to charge him 200 for the room they had. Bottom line is they made more money charging me per person versus allowing me to rent another room. They had a vacany sign lit up the entire time but again kept telling me that they had not rooms available. They just did not want to honor the rate I booked online and wanted to leave the rooms available in case someone else came through they could rob them at 200 a night. I will never stay at this place again. This was the most uncomfortable situation and stay I have ever had. The parking is ridiculous and they watch every move you make from the office. All in all the manager or owner which probably is the same person is money hungry and could care less about the customer.

Staff was very helpful. The location near the subway and close to the Berkeley campus was very good. Price was an excellent value.
The room was very small, and walls between rooms were thin.

Walking distance to UCBerkeley.
the price on the website was not the same price they tried to charge to my card- the hotel was trying to increase the rate because they were busy. I refused the higher quote and paid the price you advertised but it was weird. Very cramped parking only 1 way in and out on a busy street- very challenging to get in and out.

Just a great match for a weekend vacation in Berkeley with best value. The room was very clean and stylish for a budget place. Definitely ask for one of the newly remodeled rooms.

The owners were king and nice.
There was not a single clock in the room. Even the microwave did not have a clock. Hot water does not come out unless cold water is completely turned off, and freezing cold water will come out if you turn it on even a tiny bit. All the chairs in the room had weird white stains on it. The dead-bolt broke inside the door and wall and my and my friends were trapped inside our room for several hours. We called for help but the owners did not pick up their phone.
